About Lynn Fabia Lynn Fabia is a highly regarded teacher, author, and visionary with twenty-eight years of extensive experience in Aikido, carrying the rank of 6th degree black belt. With this rank Fabia Sensei joined a small and prestigious group of high-ranking Aikido practitioners in the U.S., and established herself as the female Aikido pioneer in the southwest. In 2002, she founded the Society of Aikido Centers, becoming the first female chief instructor of an international Aikido organization in the United States. In 2004, she was given recognition by the Texas Martial Arts Hall of Fame for her dedication and accomplishments as a martial artist. Her presentations appeal to diverse groups including the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, the Arthritis Foundation, Survivors of Domestic Abuse and Trauma and various business associations. She has also been publicized widely in various media: television, popular magazines (D Magazine) and newspapers. Ms. Fabia’s approach shows that in countless situations that life doesn’t happen to you, you create it through intent. After teaching both the physical and philosophical aspects of Aikido and after more than one hundred inspiring public speaking engagements, Ms. Fabia’s first book, “The Martial Art of Life – The Art of Intentional Living” is bringing the same unique and energizing approach in capturing and holding her audiences’ attention. Her teachings view life from a broader perspective through the timeless life concepts using Aikido as a metaphor, to illustrate energy aspects, and vibrational analogies, which are the basis of all life. Ms. Fabia is a member of the Writers’ Guild of Texas and the Dallas Self-Publishing Support Group. Her wealth of knowledge and expertise makes this a highly readable and useful publication. She has two sons and six grandchildren and resides in Dallas, Texas. She currently teaches weekly Aikido classes in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, conducts seminars throughout the year and lectures on life concepts using Aikido as a metaphor.
AUTHOR’S VISION Although I was making great strides in my profession as an Aikido instructor, there were challenges in my personal life that needed to be understood. The concepts which were given to me to write this book are profound and different from the traditional Aikido principles. It is about understanding, about truth, the invincible force, and seeing things in a different way from the norm. I am not presenting the concepts from the martial artist’s mindset, but rather from a personal perspective. You may not be interested in learning Aikido, but you may want to understand the mechanisms of how life works. This book is reaching out to the masses: the hurt and the abused, those who have lost their direction and feel that recovery is impossible, people who live in fear on a daily basis, and those who want to find balance in their relationships. I have realized that everyone can meet the challenges of everyday life without becoming reactive, as long as they apply the concepts. I saw the parallel between my practice and the concepts of Aikido. I am sharing with you what I have experienced in the process of achieving personal self-actualization. |
