Lynn Fabia is the first female Chief Instructor of an international Aikido organization in the U.S. with a rank of 6th degree black belt. She began her study of Aikido in 1982 under Bill Sosa and in the early 90's initiated Aikido as a credited course and instructed at various colleges and universities in the state of Texas. During that decade, her articles appeared in Aikido Today Magazine, opening new avenues for bringing Aikido out of the dojo and into the community. She established herself as the female Aikido pioneer in the southwest.
In May 2004, Ms. Fabia received recognition by the Texas Martial Arts Hall of Fame for her leadership and accomplishments as a martial artist. She has now devoted over twenty-five years to the study and practice of Aikido. During this time she discovered the powerful impact Aikido has had on her life. She is able to bring to the classes both inspiration and motivation through her philosophical insights.
Ms. Fabia teaches weekly classes at the SAC headquarters in Dallas, TX.

Instructor: James Woods Plano, Texas 972-880-5742
James Woods was introduced to the martial arts in 1978 with the study of the internal Chinese art of Shan Hsi Hsing-I Chuan. Hsing-I emphasizes concise, powerful body movements, with a goal of uniting the efforts of the mind and body. James continued training in this art for nearly eight years, at which time he began a collegiate career at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
During his tenure at SMU, James was introduced to the art of Aikido by Bryan Robbins, formerly of Seidokan affiliation with the late Bill Sosa Sensei. Following a year of study with Mr. Robbins in aikido and aiki-jitsu arts, James began to focus more intensely on academic pursuits.
After informal instruction in various styles (western boxing, tae kwon do, kendo, HeBei hsing-i), James found his way back to aikido. In April of 2001, he began training with Michael Park Sensei of the Aikido Silver Bridge Dojo, and has remained under his tutelage to date. During this course of study, James has also received personal instruction from Bill Sosa Sensei (International Aikido Association), Lynn Fabia Sensei (Society of Aikido Centers), and David Fabia Sensei (Society of Aikido Centers).
James currently holds the rank of Sandan with the Society of Aikido Centers, and is the chief instructor of the Rising Spirit Aikido Center in Plano, Texas.
